What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift - Line Attendant position at T. Marzetti Company?

Our foodservice business supplies many of the top restaurant chains in the United States.
Overview
Assists in operation of packaging equipment, inspects product, fills feed trays, assembles boxes, packs product into cases, and performs other duties as needed to ensure continuous operation of a product filling/packaging line. This position may be rotated on all lines within the production/packaging area.
2nd Shift full-time schedule of 40 hours by working Monday through Friday from 3:25 PM- 11:55 PM and overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
- Ensures a proper supply of materials for tapers, fillers, box makers, labelers and other packaging equipment
- Returns unused supplies to the warehouse for re-stocking in a re-sealed container.
- Assures proper coding of product container and/or case and proper application of safety seal on product container.
- Assembles boxes/cases for packing product(s) as needed
- Visually inspects product for quality defects and removes defective product
- Maintains company standards for cleanliness, safety and productivity in the plant area.
- Sets the case sealer at the correct height and width each day and adjusts as size changes require per the production schedule
- Sets up conveyor from case taper/packer
- Provides support for the machine operator in maintaining continuous production
- Performs duties on all lines in packaging as necessary
- Assists other positions and machine operator positions as needed
- Works cooperatively with other members of the packaging line
- Reports any quality problems to the line operator, supervisor, or the quality assurance supervisor
- Ensures compliance to quality, 5S, food safety, OSHA and HACCP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer, and government standards in work area
- Perform all other duties as required, assigned or directed by Supervisor.
Qualifications
0-3 years in a manufacturing environment preferred.
High School Diploma / GED required.
