The Assistant Brand Manager provides day-to-day marketing support and business analysis to ensure brand management activities are implemented in a timely and cost-effective manner. This individual is responsible for assisting in delivering specified business targets (volume, profit, market share) through the development and execution of brand strategies and plans.
Responsibilities
· Brand Management
- Assists in the development and implementation of short and long-term marketing objectives and strategies. Participates in the development and leads the execution of brand plans and tactics to deliver against brand, business and financial goals.
- Assists Brand Manager or Director in forecasting for assigned business.
- Responsible for the preparation of brand briefs and presentations including business plans and sales meetings. Work with agency partners, as necessary.
- Continuously monitors business and brand health performance using internal and external data resources to identify issues and opportunities to drive both brand development and volume performance.
- Evaluates data such as IRI data and PowerBI to develop a holistic understanding on business and market influencers.
- Prepares monthly consumption and shipment reports.
- Performs other analysis as needed and requested (competitive analysis, panel data analysis, distribution gap analysis, pricing analysis, promotional support analysis, new product tracking, coupon, and budget analysis)
- Assists in the development of consumer promotional programs and manages the execution.
- Works closely with Sales, Strategies, and Insights team on responses to sales requests concerning products, promotions, research, etc.
- Coordinates and works closely with agency partners to execute promotional plans including shopper marketing programs.
· Planning and P&L Management
- Assists in the development of annual strategic business plans, targets, and initiatives.
- Assists in delivering net sales and gross margin targets by delivering AOP.
- Measures and analyzes results of consumer program throughout the year.
- Assists with leading monthly forecast estimate for assigned brands along with Sales Planning & Demand Planning cross-functional teams.
- Analyzes and interprets market data to identify opportunities and maximize trends.
- Executes on identified cost savings initiatives of assigned brands.
- Supports development of merchandising, assortment, pricing, and shelving strategies for assigned brands alongside Sales Strategy and Insights team.
Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree in Marketing, Business or related field required.
- MBA preferred.
- Prior CPG experience preferred.
- Strong analytical skills, including business, budget, and financial analysis, with the skills to develop recommendations and to tell a story utilizing data.
- Experience with business performance analysis and reporting, specifically IRI Retail Data and/or PowerBI preferred.
- Strong attention to detail.
