Reports to Sr. Manager Benefits & Corporate Services. Responsible for managing and administering health & welfare and wellness programs, including medical, Rx, dental, vision, life insurance and supplemental benefits.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Sr. Manager to manage the annual open enrollment process.
- Ensure accuracy of all benefit enrollments and follow up with employees to ensure all required documentation is completed and maintained on a timely basis.
- Provide ongoing support to employees regarding benefit options, including plan details, eligibility requirements and enrollment procedures.
- Process and administer all leave of absence requests and various paperwork regarding disability and FMLA absences.
- Manage employee life events and status changes in the UltiPro system.
- Manage the COBRA process.
- Assist employees with benefits-related claims issues, including investigating discrepancies, coordinating with insurance carriers, and resolving disputes and problems with benefits programs.
- Perform quality checks of benefits-related data and partner with payroll specialists and HRIS team to identify and correct any discrepancies.
- Stay abreast of relevant healthcare laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Partner with payroll to ensure an understanding of any new benefits that are implemented.
- Prepare benefits presentations for review by the Sr. Manager.
- Conduct employee benefits meetings in person or via Teams as needed throughout the year.
- Collaborate with other members of the HR team to drive recruitment and retention through the effective deployment of benefits programs.
- Assist with new-hire orientations, including preparation of Brainsharks, as needed.
- Respond to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
- Effectively interpret FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
- Provide necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.
- Process vendor invoices.
- Manage wellness activities including quarterly blood drives, semi-annual biometric screenings, and all TR perks (weekly massage therapist, farm produce, etc.)
- Partner with the team on the annual Benefits Fair and manage the process from start to finish.
- Create and update the wellness calendar.
- Draft quarterly TR newsletter.
- Handle additional responsibilities and ad-hoc duties as assigned.
- Educational requirements - Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Professional experience - 2 - 3 years of experience in Employee Benefits Compliance and Administration
- Skills and competencies - Knowledge of pertinent state and Federal regulations affecting employee benefit programs, including FMLA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA and PPACA.
