WORK HOURS: The work hours of this position require flexibility in order to meet production requirements. Some mandatory overtime may be required, and voluntary overtime may be available. General shift hours: 12 PM – 8:30 PM Monday through Friday plus Saturdays as required.
Responsible for operating industrial equipment and forklift trucks to perform all material handling assignments. Identify and transport material to and from storage areas, machines, and loading docks, in/out of trailers. Must be able to withstand extreme cold temperatures of -8 degree temperature in freezer and 45 degree temperature on dock.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Performs operation and safety checks on equipment before use.
- Familiarizes self with productive capacity of machines or loading schedule of shipping services to assure prompt delivery of required items to proper destination, so that equipment does not shut down.
- Removes empty skids and stacks skids in designated areas.
- Proceeds safely to assigned area to pull, load, and move merchandise and all documents specific to each type of merchandise.
- Completes cleaning duties at the end of designated shift
- Required to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts etc.
- Employees shall follow all GMP & Food safety requirements
- Perform other duties as required or directed.
- Must be able to meet production standards of quota required
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous job experience as a forklift operator preferred
- Experience in the distribution industry a plus
- Basic knowledge of computer functions on a keyboard
- Must be able to lift up to 75lbs

Working Conditions/Environment:
Works primarily in a warehouse environment with temperatures that vary between negative 10 and 45 degrees. Employees are required to regularly speak, read, sit, stand, walk, climb, crouch, lift, reach, grasp and bend while moving about the facility. Requires some lifting of moderately heavy items such as company product. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee may periodically be exposed to odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment. Steel-toed/slip-resistant shoes, eye protection and gloves are required as necessary in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
