The position will have emphasis on increasing demands for building our supply chain; focusing on ingredient supplier evaluations. This position will work alongside R&D, procurement and quality on projects identified to ensure supply at our manufacturing facilities. Position will assure ingredient specifications, customer and quality requirements are met.
Responsibilities
· Serves as a key technical resource liaison between plant & corporate QA, R&D, sensory lab and procurement.
· Support laboratory application testing of cost-op and supply chain disruption projects:
- Deliver on cost reduction targets
- Efficient responsiveness in supply chain sourcing projects
- Ingredient and formula specification compliance
- Coordinating 3rd party laboratory analysis
- Conduct laboratory evaluations resulting in summarized data and statistical reports that may be shared with suppliers, quality teams, and customers
- Alt Supply/Cost Op project team member; provides weekly time sensitive project updates
- Coordinates sensory lab testing sharing results in a clear and concise data driven conclusion
· Support ingredient specification development and on-going specification maintenance; collaboration with quality teams on ingredient testing and trending.
· Approved supplier management documentation review in TraceGains.
· Publish TraceGains generated supplier scorecards to stakeholders and suppliers; work with procurement analyst on integration of procurement scope KPIs.
· Help on-board acquisitions by acquiring critical information from ingredient suppliers and assisting with ingredient specification development. Includes co-man assessments.
Qualifications
• BS degree in food science, food engineering, microbiology, chemistry, or other similar science related field.
• Minimum 1 year experience in food R&D, regulatory or quality assurance.
• Knowledge of food science (emphasis on food safety, quality, product development, operations).
• Strong analytical and data visualization skills. Creative and articulate problem solver.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to contribute in a start-up environment
• Proficient computer skills to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint and TraceGains. Experience with Power BI and SAP is a plus.
