Overview
Combines liquid and granular ingredients according to recipe to produce sauces and dressings. Operates mixing equipment, blender, auger and scales. Maintains production schedule established by management. Cleans and rinses equipment.
This is a 2nd shift position.
Responsibilities
- Weighs ingredients according to recipes for mixing process.
- Operates equipment and/or machinery associated with spice room.
- Performs arithmetic operations quickly and accurately.
- Documents and labels all products according to procedures.
- Reads scales, measures and weights.
- Maintains work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Ensures compliance to quality, 5S, food safety, OSHA and HACCP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards.
- Perform all other duties as required, assigned or directed by Supervisor
Qualifications
- Must be able to successfully pass an oral and written test to demonstrate required knowledge and skills required of the position.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and math skills including weights and measures are required.
- Ability to lift up to and in excess of 50lbs intermittently throughout the workday as well as carry that weight up to 25 feet at various intervals.
- Prior experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
- Must be able to stand for an 8 – 10 hour shift (sometimes longer) with regular breaks while performing repetitive tasks.
- May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
- May be required to pass a mechanical aptitude test.
Working Conditions/Environment
Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, climb, crouch, lift, reach, grasp and bend while moving about the facility. The employee may be exposed to non-ambient temperatures, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment. The noise level is loud in the plant. Ear protection, eye/face protection, hair/beard nets, steel-toed/slip-resistant shoes, and gloves are required as necessary in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
