Role Summary

T. Rowe Price is seeking a Director-level individual contributor to join the Middle Office Solutions Group within T. Rowe Price’s Global Middle Office. This pivotal role involves spearheading and implementing strategic platform, data and product initiatives on behalf of the global Middle Office teams within Global Investment Operations. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in front office to middle office processes and technologies and relevant experience representing the Middle Office in standalone, cross-departmental, and enterprise-wide change initiatives. Success in this role requires adaptability in fast-paced environments and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, service providers, and technology teams to identify and implement strategic change benefiting our global middle office teams. We are looking for someone who embraces challenges, learns from feedback, and is committed to continuous growth and improvement. This role may be eligible for either partial or full-time remote work arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage cross-functional programs of significant risk and change, employing sophisticated analytical skills to identify and implement innovative solutions. Approach challenges with a growth mindset, seeking opportunities for learning and development.
  • Evaluate and optimize data/process flows, technologies, and operating models to enhance middle office efficiency and effectiveness. Continuously seek ways to improve and innovate, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Conduct comprehensive requirements gathering and documentation, lead implementations, and develop robust business cases. Demonstrate resilience and adaptability in dynamic environments.
  • Coordinate testing efforts, communicate project status, and escalate issues as necessary to ensure timely resolution. Embrace feedback as a tool for improvement and refinement.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to internal and external business partners, regularly engaging to understand and align with their goals and objectives. Build strong relationships through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Operate independently in dynamic environments, demonstrating strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Cultivate a mindset of continuous learning and growth.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
  • 10 years of total relevant work experience

Preferred

  • Extensive knowledge of front, middle, and back-office operations within asset management firms, with deep experience and passion for designing and automating middle office processes, data governance, and control functions utilizing appropriate and available technology capabilities and solutions. Demonstrate a commitment to learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience and passion for working with data across various stages, including data mapping, data modeling, data transformation, data quality and data analysis. Ability to leverage data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions and optimize processes. Proficiency in utilizing advanced data tools and technologies to enhance data integrity and accessibility. A commitment to continuous learning and improvement in data methodologies and practices.
  • Proven leadership experience in dynamic and evolving environments, with a successful track record of delivering large strategic initiatives. Exhibit resilience and a proactive approach to overcoming obstacles.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating outsourced middle office servicing environments with internal capabilities. Approach integration challenges with a mindset focused on learning and improvement.
  • In-depth understanding of a broad range of investment management products, including US and global equities, fixed income, listed and OTC derivatives, private placements, bank loans, crypto assets and all types of investment vehicles (e.g. 40 Act Funds, SICAVs, UCITS, ETFs, Trusts, Separate Accounts). Continuously seek to expand knowledge and expertise in emerging asset classes and investment vehicles.
  • Experience delivering components of large-scale IBOR system conversions and middle office outsourcing projects. Embrace change as an opportunity for growth and innovation.
  • Extensive experience in transforming business processes to enhance operational effectiveness, increase processing efficiency, improve client service metrics, and mitigate risk. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
  • Strong ability to assess and document business needs, including systems, data, integration, workflows, and economic impact. Approach complex challenges with curiosity and a desire to learn.
  • Exceptional analytical and business acumen, with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable strategies. Demonstrate a growth mindset by continuously seeking feedback and refining strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. Build relationships through effective communication and a commitment to understanding diverse perspectives.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Jira preferred, with demonstrated experience working within both Agile and Waterfall-based project management methodologies. Embrace new methodologies and tools as opportunities for learning and growth.
  • Advanced degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is highly desirable. Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to two days per week from home, however, full-time telework (remote) will be considered.

Base Salary Ranges

$140,000.00 - $239,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers

$154,000.00 - $264,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.

$175,000.00 - $299,000.00 for the location of: New York, California

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
