Career Opportunity

We are seeking candidates for an Engineer position at our Wallops Island, Virginia, station. Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) Wallops Island, VA, requires support for management, engineering, operation, and technical expertise for activation, operations, maintenance, and engineering of equipment, systems, and computer programs in support of all Naval Sea Systems Command and Program Executive Office, Integrated Warfare Systems missions and projects performed at SCSC. SCSC provides live and simulated integrated warfare capabilities in a net-centric maritime environment to develop, test, evaluate, and conduct fleet operations and training for the warfighter. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and execute projects to install, modify, and integrate combat systems.
• Manage schedule, quality, risk, and communications for assigned projects.
• Coordinate execution of tasking across integrated product teams.
• Collaborate with drafters to create/modify engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
• Prepare and deliver plans, estimates, change requests, status reports, briefs, and other technical documentation as required using MS Office products.
• Apply DoD Unified Facilities Criteria and relevant military and commercial standards to all designs.

Travel

• This position includes a low level of travel.

Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required

• Bachelors of Science degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

• None

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret security clearance is highly desired; however, candidates who are eligible to obtain and maintain one will be considered. If the selected candidate does not hold an active clearance, he/she will receive a contingent offer. A start date will be established once an interim Secret clearance is granted.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from various work locations on base.
• Must maintain the capability to communicate with their Supervisor and/or Manager when not in the office.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently traverse stairs.
• Sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling.
• Reaching, handling, using equipment, keyboards, and mobile devices.
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 20 lbs.
