SUMMARY:
- Set up and perform laboratory tests and procedures for 60601 Series standards
- Maintain laboratory equipment and environment
- Assist engineering with executing test plans
- Understand and follow detailed test procedures specific to the devices being tested
- Set up laboratory equipment and conduct the following tests for medical devices: Dielectric Voltage Withstand test, Leakage Current Test, Temperature Tests, Temperature Tests, IP Tests, Defibrillation Test, Energy Reduction Test,
- Capable of understanding the requirements of 60601-1 and Part 2 standards
- Interpret test data, prepare clear and comprehensive test reports that document methodology, results and recommendations
- Able to read and understand insulation diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and test standards
- Demonstrate safe work practices in accordance with laboratory and company policies
- Assist the engineering staff in lab related duties
- Perform daily and periodic verifications of test equipment, including preparation of thermocouples
- Interface with GTEM Coordinator for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration and minor repairs to instrumentation/equipment
- Logging in and out of customer samples
- Perform routine housekeeping including cleaning of equipment and lab areas.
Knowledge, Skill & Abilities
- Self-starter, can-do attitude, ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of proper laboratory techniques and protocols
- Set up test apparatus or build test fixtures for testing as required
- Knowledge of operation and maintenance of test equipment
- Ability to transcribe results accurately into reports
- Have excellent communication skills and able to collaborate effectively, share information, and support colleagues
- Must have attention to detail, analytical skills, able to troubleshoot and adapt in a dynamic environment
- Need to be able to manage multiple tests/projects, keep track of schedules.
- Have ability to prioritize tasks and use time effectively to ensure testing is completed to schedule
- Must have initiative and be self-motivated, willing to take on responsibilities and capable of working independently when necessary
- Must have the willingness and ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts, processes and tools within the working environment
- Have the capacity to deal with setbacks and continue to perform effectively under stress or pressure
- Associate Degree in electrical/electronic or equivalent education and/or experience
- Laboratory safety training
- ~5 years related experience
- Computer literacy required including Microsoft Office and SAP applications
- Office and laboratory environments
- Work may include standing for long periods of time
- Lifting associated with test equipment and shipping and receiving, 50lbs
- Personal computer
- Various lab test equipment
- Little if any travel required, 5-10% or less
