What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Assurance Sales Manager position at TÜV SÜD?
The Business Assurance Sales Manager has overall responsibility for business development and sales within the Management Systems business unit. Sales growth is achieved by driving strategic initiatives, motivating and driving accountability of sales and business development staff, and customer programs such as key account management.
The Sales Manager is responsible for:
- Identify and grow TÜV’s customer base, by leading, managing and motivating the sales team and driving the business development process to meet goals and objectives for the division
- Management of all MS sales & business development staff in the region (up to 5 direct reports) including business development, outside sales, inside sales and sales administration
- Sell full suite of MS services
- Reporting of key sales data (such as pipeline, revenue, forecast) to senior stakeholders
- Ensuring diligent control and record keeping of sales processes such as lead management, quoting, booking, invoicing, etc.
- Design and management of an appropriate compensation structure including quota and industry/territory assignments in conjunction with BA Director. Set appropriate metrics and benchmarking for sales team.
- Identification, planning and execution of customer-related initiatives
- Conduct research and analysis of the market and develop go-to-market strategies ensuring alignment with global business objectives. Primary interface to marketing
- Work closely with business operations to ensure communication of sales strategy
- Support recruiting efforts for sales personnel as well as leading sales training efforts
- Develop strong business relationships with Global Product Team to support sales efforts
Provide leadership for account management program and support customers with exceptional customer service
- Support the Company’s vision and mission statement.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures as outlined in the various Corporate Policies and the Employee Handbook.

- Bachelor’s degree in business or a scientific/engineering discipline, MBA is a plus
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in sales, with a minimum of 3 years in sales management
- History of success selling management systems services within the TIC sector
- Strong background in ISO standards with knowledge of industry specific quality standards
Experience with sustainability and cybersecurity sales is a plus
Technical /Business Unit Related Skills & Knowledge:The technical skills and knowledge that are important for a specific role that enable an employee to fulfil the technical and business needs of their role This is to be defined by the respective business unit/department and will be evaluated in performance assessments.
- Detailed understanding of all stages of the sales lifecycle
- Demonstrated ability to manage sales teams with attention to performance management
- Understanding of the principles of customer success
- Excellent presentation skills, particularly with an ability to present complex sales/marketing information in a concise and understandable format
- Attentive to detail; enthusiastic and passionate; good motivator
- CRM experience (MS Dynamics, SAP, etc.)
Proficient with MS Office products
