The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and general handyman services, with experience working in industrial and commercial construction. A key characteristic of the ideal person is being dependable and self-motivated. This position will work primarily in the Mt. Juliet/Gladeville, TN area and hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints and construction drawings to complete assigned tasks.
- Perform various carpentry duties, including framing, installing doors and windows, and building structures.
- Installing finishes such as door hardware, bathroom partitions, bathroom accessories, and millwork.
- Daily clean up of job sites.
- Assist job site management by keeping up all safety-related issues such as installing handrails and barricades.
- Conduct general handyman services such as drywall repair, painting, and minor plumbing and electrical work.
- Collaborate with project management teams and other team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations on job sites.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Assist with other construction-related tasks as needed.
Knowledge, Experience & Competencies:
- Proven experience as a carpenter/handyman in the commercial/industrial construction industry
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and building materials
- Ability to operate various types of construction equipment such as skid steer, bobcat, backhoe, man lift, and scissor lift
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Valid, state-issued driver's license, good driving record, and reliable transportation?
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, at least eight hours per day, five days per week between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Ability to work on Saturdays and Sundays as needed to meet project schedules and demands
Travel Requirements:
- Daily travel to various job site locations within 100-mile radius of office
- Occasional to frequent travel to various project locations requiring an overnight stay
Physical Demands of Job:
- Ability to work outdoors and indoors without temperature control continuously
- Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects without assistance from other personnel or lifting equipment
- Constant standing, frequent walking, occasional kneeling/squatting/climbing
- Ability to maintain balance while walking and working on scaffolds and ladders
- Ability to reach for, grasp, and manipulate construction materials and tools
- Ability to see well (naturally or with correction)
