What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Engineering Technician - Req 1328 position at T2 Utility Engineers?
Join our team as a MicroStation Technician in our growing Altamonte, FL office. Duties include interpreting plans and field notes, incorporating as-builts and records, and apply common best practices for creating plan sets accordingly to ASCE 38-22 and in accordance with C.R.S 9-1.5. As a MicroStation ORD Technician II/III, you’ll play an integral role in preparing computer-generated survey drawings, according to established standards and procedures, from field collected data using CAD software.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepares and/or revises CAD generated utility mapping plan sets from T2 Utility Engineers Field and Survey collected data using Bentley MicroStation software suits. Completes simple calculations from Engineering staff specific instructions.
- Assists with comparing T2ue field gathered data versus Survey collected data. Candidate can also read and interpret, and incorporate record research data from various utility owner’s plans and documents.
- Survey experience is a plus but not required.
- Understands and implements the company’s CAD procedures and/or Agencies CAD standards for use in plan set creation and deliverables.
- Well organized with outstanding work ethic, works well with a dynamic and highly efficient team.
- Maintains schedules and progress reports for self-performed work.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience (MicroStation/ORD)
- All activities will be under the direct supervision of a licensed Surveyor or Project Manager utilizing a variety of software packages including MicroStation/ORD (Open Roads).
- 5 years’ experience with the software packages is preferred, but not necessary for an individual able to learn on the job and in a progressive atmosphere
- DOT experience is a plus
