Civil Engineering Technician

Join T2 Utility Engineers to play an integral role in preparing computer-generated survey drawings, according to established standards and procedures, from field collected data using CAD software.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Prepares and/or revises MicroStation ORD generated utility investigation plan sets from T2 Utility Engineers Field and Survey collected data using Bentley MicroStation software suits
• Completes simple calculations from Engineering staff specific instructions
• Assists with comparing T2ue field gathered data versus Survey collected data. Candidate can also read, interpret, and incorporate utility record research data from various utility owner’s plans and documents
• Survey data processing in MicroStation/ORD is a plus
• Understands and implements the company’s ORD procedures and/or Agencies ORD standards for use in plan set creation and deliverables
• Well organized with outstanding work ethic, works well with a dynamic and highly efficient team
• Maintains schedules and progress reports for self-performed work

Qualifications:

• Must have 5 years of working with MicroStation based systems and 2 years minimum with ORD
• 2 years of MicroStation/ORD experience in survey or transportation engineering related fields
• Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience (MicroStation/ORD)
• All activities will be under the direct supervision of a licensed Surveyor, Project Manager or Professional Engineer, utilizing a variety of software packages including MicroStation/ORD (Open Roads)
• DOT experience is a plus
• Trimble Business center experience is a plus
