Job Summary:
We are seeking a Process Development Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in designing, optimizing, and scaling innovative manufacturing processes that enhance efficiency, quality, and sustainability. This role requires strong technical expertise, strategic problem-solving abilities, and leadership skills to drive continuous improvement and foster cross-functional collaboration across various teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Design and Optimization: Develop, evaluate, and refine manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, ensure safety, and promote sustainability. Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to enhance product quality and operational performance.
- Scale-Up Production: Transition processes from pilot or prototype stages to full-scale manufacturing while ensuring consistency, regulatory compliance, and product integrity. Work closely with production teams to minimize risks and optimize resource utilization.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Manage and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring successful project execution, technical excellence, and professional growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design engineering, manufacturing engineering, and quality assurance teams to integrate new processes into existing operations seamlessly. Facilitate communication among stakeholders to minimize disruptions.
- Data Analysis and Continuous Improvement: Monitor production metrics, analyze data to identify improvement areas, and implement data-driven solutions. Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all processes comply with industry regulations, company standards, and safety protocols. Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures to mitigate potential hazards.
- Technology Integration: Leverage automation, control systems, and software tools such as AutoCAD, simulation modeling, and PLC programming to optimize manufacturing processes.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (Lean Six Sigma, Process Optimization) are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process development, manufacturing optimization, or a related engineering role, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership capacity.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, finite element analysis tools, and other simulation/modeling software.
- Knowledge of automation systems, PLC programming, and control platforms.
- Strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills with a keen analytical mindset to troubleshoot process inefficiencies and develop innovative solutions.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency in process execution.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present complex technical information clearly.
- Experience working in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, food production, or chemical processing is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in sustainable design practices and green technologies.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
