This role is critical in managing and optimizing the efficiency of our operations, including project management, customer delivery, production, and quality assurance. The Huntsville Director of Operations will work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement operational strategies that meet the demands of our customers while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Responsibilities
- In conjunction with the COO and CSO, lead and manage all aspects of operations, including project management, customer delivery production, and quality assurance to meet company objectives and contractual requirements.
- Integrate with the project teams and corporate operations to facilitate communication and work between the organizations.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's long-term goals and objectives.
- Oversee the operations budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources and achieving financial targets.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
- Work with contracts and legal to ensure all operations comply with applicable regulations, standards, and defense industry requirements, including maintaining high-quality standards.
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing customer delivery team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.
- In conjunction with the COO, oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of all operational aspects of defense projects, ensuring timelines and milestones are met.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to operations, contracts, and programs. Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions.
- Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders, including government agencies, to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
- In conjunction with the COO and CTO, lead the adoption and integration of new technologies to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position.
- Experience: Minimum of 20 years of experience in operations management within the government or defense industry, with at least 15 years in a leadership role.
