The ROLE
The Technical Sales Manager for Walsh Marine Products will lead business development efforts for the Walsh Marine product line with a strong emphasis on technical acumen, applications, and solution-selling. This role requires a unique blend of sales expertise, customer relationship skills, and technical knowledge to position Walsh Marine’s barrier floatation and marine safety products as best-in-class solutions across commercial and industrial marine markets.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- · Identify and evaluate potential sales leads through networking and online research. Example: Coastal Waterways, Resorts and State/Local Governments
- · Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs and forecasts.
- Serve as the primary technical and commercial contact for Walsh Marine customers, prospects, and partners. Owning the sales lifecycle from prospecting to implementation.
- · Participate in the yearly sales planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
- · Respond promptly to customers for daily quotes and proposals to drive new orders.
- · Track and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
- · Achieve monthly sales targets with demonstrable key performance indicators (KPIs).
- · Cultivate new market opportunities for sales growth.
- · Collaborate with Walsh Marine’s designated marketing firm to promote Walsh Marine Products through social media and marketing campaigns.
- · Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- · Conduct searches on LinkedIn, Google, and other social media avenues to identify new business leads.
- · Preparing and sending quotes and proposals to Customers
- Management of E-Commerce Sales with support from external marketing firm
- Understand and interpret marine engineering drawings, site plans, and specifications to recommend appropriate Walsh Marine products and configurations.
- Provide technical support and application guidance to customers, distributors, and internal teams.

- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow market share, increase revenue/EBITDA and expand into new marine and industrial applications.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to tailor custom solutions for customer needs and ensure feasibility.
- Present product solutions effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Participate in product development feedback loops by collecting market insights and performance data.
- Attend and present at industry trade shows, technical conferences, and customer facilities.
- Maintain customer records, sales pipeline activities, and technical documentation in Hubspot CRM.
- Support the marketing team with technical content for brochures, datasheets, and digital campaigns.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor offerings to inform positioning and product strategies.
Education and/or Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s Degree (Marketing, Business, Engineering or related) preferred.
· 5 years’ experience in sales, marketing, or related field required.
· Possess strong creative and strategic thinking skills to develop effective sales strategies through prioritization and execution for business growth.
Experience working with or selling into marina, dock, waterway infrastructure, or marine construction industries is a strong plus.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Proficiency in customer relationship management (CRM) software like HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Experience with SAGE ERP a plus
