T47 International is seeking an Education and Incentives Counselor to provide subject matter expertise to assist service members in understanding and utilizing their G.I. Bill benefits, loan repayments, and education opportunities. Responsibilities include eligibility counseling, processing education benefit requests, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
Location: Clay National Guard Center, Marietta, GA
Position Type: Full-Time
Hourly Rate: Between $34.00 - $44.00
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, or related field
· Experience with GIMS, iPERMS, and IPPS-A preferred
· Strong communication and counseling skills
Specific Requirements
Counseling & Education Planning
· Counsel service members on G.I. Bill benefits transfer to dependents within 5 business days, ensuring 95% on-time compliance.
· Assist service members in creating degree plans tailored to goals and eligibility within 10 business days; 90% on-time completion with no more than 5% corrections.
· Verify eligibility for Federal education benefits (Montgomery G.I. Bill) and produce Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE) within 3 business days; 98% accuracy.
· Manage G.I. Bill-related tasks in the Guard Incentive Management System (GIMS), completing updates/fixes within 2 business days; 98% accuracy.
Briefings & Training
· Conduct at least two education briefings per month, ensuring 100% completion with no more than two documented complaints per quarter.
· Serve as Test Control Officer & exam proctor (AFCT, ASVAB, CLEP) ensuring 100% compliance with testing standards.
Data Management & Compliance
· Submit weekly statistics reports on education-related actions by Monday 12:00 PM, ensuring 98% accuracy.
· Ensure 100% accuracy in IPPS-A coding for education level evaluations, with corrections completed within 2 business days.
· Conduct quarterly audits for compliance with federal regulations, ensuring 98% compliance and correcting issues within 5 business days.
Resource & Inventory Management
· Maintain educational resources inventory (test prep materials, brochures) and ensure all requests are fulfilled within 15 business days.
· Order promotional materials within 10 business days, ensuring 98% accuracy.
Institutional & Program Coordination
· Verify authenticity/accreditation of schools within 5 business days, maintaining 100% accuracy.
· Assist service members in acquiring and updating Joint Service Transcripts (JST) within 3 business days, ensuring 98% on-time completion.
· Coordinate with GAARNG and educational institutions regarding scholarships, benefits, and opportunities.
· Respond to DVA requests within 3 business days, maintaining 98% accuracy.
Reporting & Outreach
· Track and report education benefits utilization with 98% accuracy, ensuring 100% of eligible members are tracked.
· Provide logistical/administrative support for briefings within 5 business days.
· Conduct monthly outreach to high schools/universities to promote ARNG education programs, ensuring 100% participation.
· Facilitate quarterly meetings with ARNG staff and education stakeholders, ensuring decisions are tracked and followed up within 5 business days.
