Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee our high-volume retail truck stop and travel center in Wasco, OR. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the store runs efficiently while providing exceptional customer service. The General Manager will play a crucial role in driving sales, managing inventory, controlling costs and fostering a positive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily store operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Oversee employee orientation, training, and development to enhance team performance.
- Manage employee hours and control payroll.
- Implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and reduce shrinkage.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
- Recruit, hire, and train staff to build a competent team aligned with company goals.
- Monitor sales performance and develop strategies to meet or exceed targets.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Utilize math skills for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding store objectives and performance.
- Demonstrated integrity and accountability at the managerial level
- Excellent team leadership skills
- Able to work a flexible schedule of days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Other duties as assigned
Experience
- Minimum 2-3 years of management experience in the truck stop, C-Store, restaurant, grocery, or other service industry with responsibility for financial results
- Previous management proficiency in high volume retail with P&L accountability
- Strong background in recruiting, employee development, and team management.
- Demonstrated ability in inventory management practices.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills to engage with employees at all levels of the organization.
