SUMMARY
The Controls Engineering Lead provide guidance, support, and training to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in automation technologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions with other engineering disciplines.


 IN THIS ROLE, THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL

  • Work includes taking customer supplied control logic, I/O database, etc. and creating control configuration and network architecture
  • Produce software controls programs and modifications by identifying project objectives and issues as needed
  • Researching and developing software design techniques and approaches
  • Verifying and validating software designs as needed
  • Design graphical user interfaces
  • Configure and program PLC/HMI’s and all current and new products as required by the project
  • Program control sequences
  • Provide system documentation as required
  • Testing and debug
  • Customer training and support
  • Sound technical, troubleshooting and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and advance several projects in parallel
  • Evaluates project work to ensure effectiveness, technical adequacy, or compatibility in the resolution of complex problems
  • Any additional duties assigned by management

 
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and/or experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer or electrical engineering or similar preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within automation engineering 
  • Sound skills with technical, troubleshooting, and documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and advance multiple projects in parallel
  • Willing to train in the following disciplines are required:
    • Robot: Fanuc, ABB, Kawasaki, Motoman Robotics understanding
    • PLC: RSLogics 5000, Siemens S7, TIA Portal and various platforms
    • Vision Systems: Keyence, Cognex, Teledyne Dalsa and various platforms

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The ability to lead a project team through monitoring and following project timelines
  • Organize workload to meet deadlines
  • Assign projects to team members
  • Ensure training is available to upkeep skillset
