Job Title: Case manager/paralegal
Starting Pay: $17-18 per hour
Location: On site – Glendale, Wisconsin
Full Time (40 hours/week)
Qualifications: High school diploma
Tabak Law is a large law firm in the Milwaukee area. We are looking to fill multiple paralegal/case manager positions. The primary practice area of the firm is Social Security Disability law.
The paralegals/case managers are responsible for handling the cases day-to-day after a request for hearing is filed. Once a hearing date is scheduled, the paralegal/case manager must procure evidence and work with the attorney to create a complete file for the judge. After the hearing is done, the paralegal/case manager coordinates with the attorney to determine next steps.
Full training on the position and the law is provided. This is an entry level position. No previous Social Security Disability experience is required.
- Communicating with clients by phone, email, mail, fax, and text message at regular intervals
- Communicating with the Social Security Administration (SSA) and specifically the hearing office and Judges. This will include phone calls, filing documents, and sending faxes.
- Data entry including documenting actions taken on a case
- Identifying and applying legal concepts to help the attorney achieve a good result for the client
- Tracking deadlines and important milestones within the life of a case
- Assisting clients with completing forms
- Obtaining evidence including medical records, work history, and information
- Proficient with computers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ideal candidates will have no trouble working under pressure and tight deadlines as all cases are actively in litigation.
