We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Treatment and Insurance Coordinator to be the welcoming face and knowledgeable liaison for our patients at Tabeguache Dental, a general dentistry startup office located in Grand Junction, CO. In this pivotal front office role, you will coordinate patient appointments and treatment plans while verifying insurance benefits and guiding patients through their financial options. Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, insurance processes, and treatment planning
- Familiarity with dental practice management software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
- Friendly, team-oriented, and professional demeanor
- Working knowledge of insurance claim procedures and CDT codes
- Basic understanding of accounting and financial reporting
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
- Occasional light lifting (up to 25 lbs)
- Good manual dexterity, vision, and ability to communicate clearly
Duties:
Patient Scheduling & Treatment Coordination
- Schedule and manage appointments based on provider availability and patient needs
- Confirm and reschedule appointments, maintaining a smooth daily flow
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure optimal patient care and timely treatment follow-ups
- Educate patients on treatment plans and present financing option
Insurance & Financial Coordination
- Verify insurance eligibility prior to appointments
- Accurately prepare and submit insurance claims (electronic or paper)
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims
- Post insurance payments and patient portions
- Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits, copays, and out-of-pocket responsibilities
- Set up and monitor financial arrangements with patients
Administrative & Communication Duties
- Greet patients warmly, answer calls, and route inquiries appropriately
- Maintain up-to-date patient records and documentation in practice management software (Open Dental, Flex)
- Monitor and balance daily production and collections
- Support front office functions including billing, claims documentation, and reporting
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other dental industry regulations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
