This role is a full-time, hourly position, 5 days per week (30-45 hours). The Greenhouse Manager reports to the head farmer and will work alongside other team members. The Greenhouse Manager is responsible for all production in our greenhouse as well as our microgreens production. The Greenhouse Manager will primarily be working independently but will also be assisting the Wash/Pack Manager when time allows.
Responsibilities and Typical Tasks
The Greenhouse Manager is responsible for much of the day-to-day operations of the greenhouse. This would include but is not limited to:
- Work with and report to the farm manager on the production plan and day-to-day operations
- Read crop plan and perform greenhouse sowing task on time
- Propagation
- Nursery care
- Transplanting
- Pruning
- Trellising
- Irrigation
- Cultivation
- Harvest
- Soil fertility management
- Be able to scout potential bugs or disease while working in greenhouse and give feedback to the farm manager – spray with guidance
- Be responsible for laying out the Microgreens production in alignment with needs of the markets
- Packaging
- Keep records on greenhouse sowing and helping with on-farm research and development
Qualifications and Qualities
Qualifications necessary:
- Preferred experience in small scale intensive organic vegetable farming
- Experience growing in greenhouses
- Able to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
- Able to work outdoors under varying weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, etc.)
- Able to multitask
- Highly organized, and ability to think in a systems manner, and set up better processes.

- A valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
Additional Qualities:
- Passion and interest in working/learning about small-scale, low-input, sustainable vegetable, flower, and herb production
- Self-starter, self-disciplined, goal orientated
- Comfortable working in a high profile environment with regular filming being done for educational purposes
- Ability to set own appropriate schedule, work effectively with minimal supervision
- Comfortable with kids and a family working environment
- Comfortable with dogs
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Be in good physical condition, work in all weather conditions, and able to lift 60 lbs
- Ability to work in a potentially challenging environment and be adaptable
- Have transportation and be punctual
- Energetic nature and willing to have fun
- Attention to detail, experience building efficient systems, and record-keeping
- Outstanding communication (oral and written) skills; share and accept feedback in a team environment
- Providing exceptional customer service and assisting customers when needed.

This is a multi-step process and will involve virtual interviews. Final candidates will be expected to visit the farm in Missouri for a working interview before hiring. The start date is February 15th or ASAP after that.
