Digital Pedagogy and AI Integration Specialist

Position Summary

Tabor Academy is seeking an experienced Digital Pedagogy and AI Integration Specialist to provide strategic vision and leadership on technology integration within the curriculum. This full-time faculty position offers a unique opportunity to shape our relationship to technology in and out of the classroom, with a focus on Tabor’s 4 C’s (care, collaboration, courage, and curiosity). Reporting to the Dean of Academics, the Digital Pedagogy and AI Integration Specialist is a 12-month (year-round) position within the Academic Office. This role regularly collaborates with Academic Departments, Academic Support, and the Technology Department to enhance teaching and learning through the use of innovative technologies. In addition, the Digital Pedagogy and AI Integration Specialist may teach a class, serve in the afternoon co-curricular program for one season/trimester, and serve as a houseparent in our residential program. Housing may be included in the compensation package. Start date: July 1, 2025.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Work closely with school leadership to provide vision and direction around technology integration and innovation within the curriculum – including, but not limited to, best practices for partnering with artificial intelligence in the classroom.

· Serve as an internal resource and advocate for technology integration and digital literacy across all areas of the school.

· Develop, coordinate, and teach workshops on instructional and administrative applications of technology; assist faculty in group and 1-on-1 settings as needed.

· Provide expertise and usage support on the school’s learning management and student information systems; experience with Blackbaud and Microsoft 365 preferred.

· Sit on the Academic Council and work with Academic Department Chairs to prioritize technology in service of department and school goals for teaching and learning.

· Design and run orientation and ongoing development sessions for faculty and students.

· Capitalize on opportunities to showcase Tabor’s innovative approaches to technology through presentations in and outside of the school (open houses, re-visit days, and Board meetings, conferences, etc.).

· Develop and run professional development sessions/workshops with full faculty, as well as at the department and classroom level.

· Serve as thought partner to faculty and staff in navigating various programmatic technology needs (e.g., efficient sign-up platforms, website organization, session assignments during programs with choice).

· Collaborate with teachers to integrate AI tools into lessons, assessments, and projects.

· Train and support faculty on the ethical and effective use of AI in the classroom, ensuring that AI enhances student learning without compromising creativity and critical thinking.

· Develop guidelines for the responsible use of AI by students and teachers, addressing concerns like academic integrity, data privacy, and personalized learning.

· Stay up-to-date with emerging AI technologies and advise school leadership on policy updates and best practices for AI integration.

· Ensure that students’ digital citizenship skills include critical evaluation of AI-generated content, algorithms, and biases.

Qualifications:

· Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.

· Experienced in leveraging AI technologies to enhance teaching, learning, and student engagement while addressing academic integrity and pedagogical implications.

· Skilled in guiding faculty on the ethical and effective integration of AI tools for differentiated instruction, assessment, and skill development, with a strong focus on AI literacy and future readiness.

· Prior experience in a high school setting preferred and an obvious joy for working with teenagers and adults.

· An understanding of current teaching pedagogies and adolescent development.

· Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations and perspectives.

· Be self-reflective and committed to professional work, as well as able to work both independently and in collaboration with others.

· Experiences that can translate to teaching in the classroom and/or serving in our co-curricular/athletic program.
