DEPARTMENT: Human Services - Opportunities for Ohioians with Disabilities (OOD)

NORMAL WORKING HOURS: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm (Varies)

REPORTS TO: OOD Supervisor

POSITION CONCEPT

The Abilities Connection (TAC) is seeking team members who want fulfilling work at a successful non-profit organization. TAC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose primary mission is to empower people with disabilities and other barriers to achieve their full potential. The ideal candidates will be able to provide one on one supports to participants on their job site. Act as a liaison and advocate for their participant while using a customer service approach to maintaining community employer relationships. Ability to keep both electronic and written documentation is necessary as well as the ability to observe behavior and measure performance. Evening and weekend availability is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work as a team in training, supporting and supervising individuals with disabilities in groups and individually in various skill areas focusing on advancing the individual’s path to integrated employment and advancing the individual’s path to community connections/membership in accordance with Individual Service Plans (ISP).
  • Provides assessments and input for ISPs; participates in staffing meetings and development of IPs for individuals; assists in establishing outcomes and setting up programs to accomplish objectives; prepares plans for instructional activity; obtains necessary materials and equipment for training.
  • Community Engagement - helping the people we serve with job preparation and job placement.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma/GED Required

SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Develops meaningful relationships with clients and reports praises and/or concerns
  • Community outreach
  • Patient and calm communication skills to communicate with team and individuals with disabilities.
  • Can think outside of the box and love to learn/share new ideas and work to see them practice
  • The ability to deal with sensitive people in time of need.
  • Can pass a drug screen, background check, and has a valid drivers license with less than 6 points on driving record (for driving individuals around the community).
  • Paperwork, tracking, and attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
