Teaching Assistant (Works4Me)

NORMAL WORKING HOURS: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm

REPORTS TO: Employment Coordinator

POSITION CONCEPT

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

§ Works in training, supporting and educating individuals with disabilities in groups and individually in various skill areas focusing primarily on advancing the individual’s path to integrated employment in accordance with Individual Service Plans (ISP) and Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) Plan.

§ Develop and maintain learning modules and materials, engaging activities, and facilitate individuals' discussions in core Works4Me lesson areas.

§ Utilizes systematic training methods and procedures to implement Works4me objectives, actions steps and service and supports; monitors and documents progress towards goals and objectives.

§ Maintains atmosphere of respect and encouragement in training programs and sessions; sets up, implements, maintains and ensures safe and healthy environment for individuals and staff.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma/GED Required

SKILLS and ABILITIES:

• Develops meaningful relationships with clients and reports praises and/or concerns
• Community outreach
• Patient and calm communication skills to communicate with team and individuals with disabilities.
• Can think outside of the box and love to learn/share new ideas and work to see them practice
• The ability to deal with sensitive people in time of need.
• Can pass a drug screen, background check, and has a valid drivers license with less than 6 points on driving record (for driving individuals around the community).
• Paperwork, tracking, and attention to detail.

Pay: From $1.00 per hour
