Job Summary

As the Director of Program Management at Tachus, you will lead the Project Management Department and establish, standardize, and scale the project management processes, tools, and reports. This role requires strategic leadership, operational excellence, and the ability to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and proactive problem-solving. You and your team will oversee and ensure the successful completion of all network construction projects, from planning to close-out.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Culture Building

  • Build and lead a high-performing project management team, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Act as a mentor and coach, empowering team members to solve problems and overcome challenges effectively.
  • Create strong working relationships and integrations within the company, specifically Accounting, Operations, Outside Plant, Engineering, Business Sales and Marketing.
  • Drive a no roadblock mindset, fostering proactive solutions and continuous improvement that deliver on the construction and installation goals for residential and business customers to exceed company growth objectives.

Strategic Oversight; Project Execution; and Performance Management

  • Oversee permitting, construction timelines, and project execution, ensuring seamless delivery across all phases.
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure that high-level and low-level designs align with project and organizational goals.
  • Develop and refine systems and processes to enhance efficiency, reduce timelines, ensure compliance, and operational success.
  • Define and implement KPIs to measure project success and alignment with organizational objectives, including WIP and cost reporting.
  • Manage third party contractors and vendors.
  • Manage schedules, invoice process and approval, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Work with local and state government permitting authorities to procure and manage construction permits; work with property owners and associations to execute Right of Entry agreements.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Communicate project updates to stakeholders, providing actionable insights into performance and status.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 10 years of relevant experience, including extensive experience in project or program management, with expertise in permitting, construction, scheduling, and budget management.
    • 5 years in Telecom/Construction: Direct experience in fiber optic networks, construction management, or a related field to understand industry nuances.
    • 5 Years in Senior Leadership: Experience managing teams, budgets, and projects at a strategic level.
  • PMO/Systems Development Experience: At least 23 years of experience specifically building or optimizing project management systems.
  • Strong understanding of high-level and low-level design principles to facilitate collaboration with technical teams.
  • Proficiency in project management, financial, and other supporting tools.
  • Proven ability to establish and track KPIs and lead teams to measurable success.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to inspire and align diverse groups.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Candidates must be able to work on-site at our corporate office in The Woodlands, Texas.

Preferred:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant field or PMP, PgMP or equivalent certification.
  • Strong understanding of organizational systems and tools.

This is a salary exempt position, starting pay based on experience and level of expertise. This is a full-time position located in The Woodlands, Texas. Relocation will not be provided.
