Summary
We are hiring a Knowledge Management SME! The candidate will develop, manage, update, and maintain KM systems (e.g., SharePoint sites, databases, and internal websites) that can serve as repositories for storing, sharing, and utilizing data; assist the Government by advising how best to utilize KM tools. The KM systems will enhance information sharing of analysis, assessments, legislative materials, policies, strategies, budget materials, IT information, and other relevant documents. The candidate will train system users, which may include DoD components, providing user guides as needed; and integrate information with other databases, as required. You will utilize automated tools and visualizations to facilitate users’ access and ability to analyze information holdings; employ specific tools for unique office needs, as required, which may include interoperability with or ability to share information with other organizations; create and maintain virtual communities of interest to enable collaboration, store, search, and discover information; share lessons learned and best practices; and report and track metrics to assess progress against various programs, policies, and strategies. Develop simulations and exercises to test database readiness and communication channels; continuously identify opportunities to improve exchanges of information across systems as well as the Government.
- Support the implementation of Knowledge Management in the directorates across all domains - people, processes, and tools.
- Provide the ability to translate operational requirements into logical and integrated technical solutions; advise the staff members on holistic methodologies to accomplish their tasks and missions given their respective problem sets.
- Provide the ability to design, document, and orchestrate doctrinally sound processes to support operational mission requirements.
- Provide KM technical expertise, oversight, and control in communications, time management, quality assurance, quality control and management, process development, and risk management.
- Develop and implement a KM program that identifies the management strategies to be followed and goals to be achieved. These plans would be revised and updated as necessary to remain current and effective based on the organization’s changing priorities and environments.
- Sustain and maintain the DoD CIO knowledge management environments, and implement enhancements as prioritized through the Knowledge Management Working Group (KMWG) under governmental lead as mutually approved by the Government Chair and the working group members.
- The prioritized enhancements are expected to come from among the Directorate efforts:
o Provide support to ad hoc requests that are time sensitive and mission critical to the directorate
o Facilitate, support, and capture minutes for battle rhythm events as required.
o Coordinate with the Command Records Officer (CRO) or other RLs on any Records Management-related taskers, meetings, boards, and/or working groups.
