Position: Word Press Developers / Solution Architects
Location: Physically located in US (as they may have to travel to office for meetings) Not VPN from offshore to US. Open to Offshore or Near shore for the right candidate.
Duration: 6 -12 Months
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and confident WordPress Senior Developer - Solution Architect to join our team for a critical project. This is a highly communicative role that requires both technical expertise and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in WordPress development, including backend configuration, custom component creation, and integration of existing systems. This role will involve leading the development of custom content components, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems, and providing post-launch support.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Development:
o Lead two (2) 3-week development sprints to deliver up to ten (10) custom content components for WordPress.
o Ensure components are functional, reusable, and integrate seamlessly with existing components.
o Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in HTML, JavaScript, and PHP.
o Handle the lift/shift of current integrations to ensure compatibility with the new components.
2. WordPress Backend Configuration (Authoring):
o Configure and optimize WordPress backend files to support the new custom components.
o Ensure the authoring experience is intuitive and efficient for content creators.
3. Integration & Rendering:
o Develop backend components for rendering and integration with existing systems.
o Ensure all components are optimized for performance and scalability.
4. Quality Assurance & Launch Support:
o Support QA efforts by addressing bug fixes and ensuring the stability of the solution.
o Provide hands-on support during production launch and for two (2) weeks post-launch to resolve any issues.
5. Communication & Collaboration:
o Act as a technical liaison between development teams, stakeholders, and content creators.
o Clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members.
o Provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and solutions.
Project Timeline:
Start Date: Mid-April
End Date: June (with potential extension into July for post-launch support)
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a WordPress Senior Developer or Solution Architect.
Strong proficiency in HTML, JavaScript, and PHP.
Expertise in WordPress backend configuration and custom component development.
Experience with integrating third-party systems and APIs.
Strong understanding of web performance optimization and scalability.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently articulate technical concepts.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, particularly with development sprints.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with QA processes and bug-fixing.
Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks and libraries.
Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
Experience with post-launch support and troubleshooting.
