Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Cannabis Extraction Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the cannabis industry, with specific expertise in the extraction process. The technician will be responsible for operating extraction equipment, ensuring the safe handling of materials, maintaining high-quality standards, and adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Extraction Process:
- Perform cannabis extraction using methods such as ethanol, hydrocarbon, or other techniques (CO2 is a plus).
- Set up and operate extraction equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and cleanliness.
- Monitor extraction parameters to ensure optimal yield and quality.
- Product Quality:
- Test and analyze products to ensure compliance with state regulations and industry standards.
- Assist in troubleshooting extraction issues and provide solutions to ensure high-quality products.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Follow strict safety protocols and best practices to avoid accidents and maintain a safe work environment.
- Ensure all extraction procedures are compliant with local and state regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of extraction batches, materials, and testing results.
- Maintenance & Cleanliness:
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on extraction equipment.
- Ensure a clean and organized work area in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with other team members, including cultivators, production staff, and quality control technicians, to ensure smooth workflow.
- Report any operational issues or discrepancies to the Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Previous experience in cannabis extractions, or related field, preferred.
- Knowledge of different extraction methods (e.g., ethanol, butane, etc.).
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of extraction equipment and technology.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and operational issues.
- Detail-oriented and quality-focused, ensuring the highest standards of extraction.
- Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Post-secondary education in chemistry, biology, or related field is a plus.
- Certifications:
- Any relevant cannabis industry certifications or safety training (e.g., OSHA, HAZMAT) is preferred.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes physically demanding environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Background check is required.
- Must have a strong understanding of cannabis industry regulations and compliance requirements.
