Job Overview

The Early Childhood Program Specialist 3 (Lead Teacher) plays a crucial role in fostering the educational development of children aged 12 months to 5 years within the Early Learning Center. This position requires active engagement with parents, practicum students, volunteers, and colleagues, all while adhering to industry standards set by the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF), National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and other relevant regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the growth and learning of children through developmentally appropriate practices, enhancing creativity and essential skills.
  • Implement individualized guidance techniques that honor each child’s unique development.
  • Conduct assessments of children’s progress using recognized evaluation tools and adapt learning experiences based on observations.
  • Maintain accurate educational documentation and utilize digital platforms for curriculum design and communication.
  • Provide mentorship and training to less experienced team members, including practicum and work-study students.
  • Collaborate with the Center leadership to ensure efficient program operations and effective communication with parents.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and professional development opportunities, committing to ongoing education in early childhood practices.
  • Represent the program confidently to families and visitors, articulating educational philosophies and best practices.

Qualifications
