Position Summary
The Second Assistant will partner with the Superintendent and First Assistant to direct and coordinate golf course maintenance activities, such as maintaining quality course conditions, developing (training) and retaining employees. The Second Assistant may serve in the First Assistant’s capacity in the event of their absence.
Primary Responsibilities include the following: (other duties may be assigned)
- Effectively lead staff to ensure a quality product. Follow up with staff continually to ensure tasks are being completed in a timely manner and to the Club’s Standards.
- Evaluate and assess equipment management, operation and set up.
- Maintain daily course set up to the Club’s Standards.
- Maintain communication between staff and Golf Shop.
- Proactively identify and correct problems that arise on property
Candidate Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum High School Graduation
- Weekends/holidays
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task
- Basic Turf Care Maintenance background (sprayers, chemicals, understanding of irrigation and components)
- Understand the game of golf
- Ability to supervise multiple employees
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, 40 hour weekly, with benefits including:
