Tacoma Equine Hospital's team consists of veterinarians, veterinary assistants, and office staff who all share a passion for providing quality, top-notch care for horses from all walks of life. We are a full-service, multi-doctor veterinary practice offering ambulatory and clinical appointments as well as 24/7 emergency service throughout South Puget Sound.
Our front office team oversees the day-to-day relations with our clients. Duties include:
- Providing exceptional support to the veterinary team.
- Reception (answering phone calls & emails).
- Scheduling & coordinating appointments.
- Maintaining client communications and records.
- Accounts maintenance.
- Payment processing.
- Mail and shipping service.
- Promoting the practice.
- Maintaining the office.
Our Ideal Candidate has:
- Horse experience and knowledge; experience in the veterinary field preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail & a great attitude.
- The ability to adapt to a changing schedule and work well under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ezyVet preferred.
- Prior customer service experience with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to professionally manage all phone calls, sit and type for long periods of time, and carry up to 50 pounds for a short distance.
Compensation & Benefits Package:
- Wage: $18-20 per hour for Receptionist Level 1, dependent on qualifications and experience. (Applicants with previous veterinary reception and horse experience may be considered for a higher level and wage dependent on proficiencies.)
- Accrued paid vacation at a rate of 1 hour for every 52 hours worked in the first year after which the accrual increases to 1 hour for every 26 hours worked.

Shift & Schedule:
- Monday - Friday, 8:45 am - 5:15 pm with a 30 min lunch break
