Position Summary
The Wound Care Coordinator collaborates with staff in various disciplines, to provide consultation and clinical education/teaching services using advanced theory and knowledge of content to promote and influence positive patient outcomes. You will provide leadership in the delivery of care to the patient/family, and plan, implement, evaluate, and provide patient care using hospital and nursing standards. You will serve as the clinical resource for ostomy/continent diversion, skin and wound management problems, pressure ulcer prevention and incontinence issues.Responsibilities
- Provides assessment, nursing intervention, and care planning for patients with ostomy, abdominal stomas, draining wounds and fistulae, incontinence, acute and chronic wounds
- Provides patient education and counsel through verbal, written and hands on experience including the family, significant other, caregiver, or medical providers
- Initiates and assists in discharge planning for patients with complex wound and/or ostomy conditions
- Serves as a subject matter expert/resource/consultant to provider and nursing staff, providing a high level of clinical expertise
- Provides leadership in the mentoring and precepting of staff; provides general in-services and participates in formal skin and wound education sessions
- Assists in coordination, organization, and completion of assigned surveys
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, or obtained within five (5) years from the initial date of hire; RN with 15 years of service or internal candidates hired before January 1, 2021 may be considered in satisfaction of this requirement in lieu of an education agreement
- Advanced Degree in Nursing (MSN, PhD, DNP, ARNP) preferred
- Licensed in the State of Washington as a Registered Nurse
- Wound certification required
- Ostomy certification preferred
- One (1) year previous wound care experience
- Current BLS Certification required

Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $98,218.00 - $174,637.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.Associated benefit information can be viewed here.
