Tacoma Roofing & Waterproofing, a well-established commercial and residential roofing contractor, has an immediate opportunity for a highly skilled Sheet Metal Fabrication Foreman, with knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and installation. The Sheet Metal Fabrication Foreman oversees and coordinates all aspects of sheet metal work: managing a crew, teaching and mentoring, assigning tasks, guaranteeing safety policies are followed, and ensuring projects are completed to quality standards, within timelines, and at or under budget. This Foreman will work primarily in our sheet metal shop, and in the field when needed.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Fabrication:
o Adept at fabrication and installation of the following: cap flashing, soldered saddle flashing, thru wall scuppers, leader heads, collector boxes, break shape gutters and downspouts, as well as perimeter edge and wall flashings for shingle and metal roof systems.
o Expertise to manufacture custom break shape flashings that are not stocked by our supply houses.
- Perform tasks involving thru-wall flashing, fabrication, roof panels, wall panels, etc.
- Construct, fabricate, alter, and repair architectural sheet metal components.
- Assemble, cut, and shape materials as specified in plans or directed by supervisor.
- Demonstrate and teach crew members to utilize equipment and tools properly and safely.
- Ensure quality control and complete documentation.
- Crew Management:
- Assign tasks to sheet metal workers according to the person’s skill set and abilities.
- Monitor production progress and ensure efficiency and quality.
- Mentor crew members by providing instruction, guidance, and support.
- Ensure projects are completed to the highest quality standards and within specified timelines, and at or under budget.
- Safety:
- Conduct weekly Safety Meetings/Training Sessions and associated documentation.
- Communicate safety issues to the Supervisor, educate crew members about safety protocols, and ensure proper use of PPE.
- Conduct job site analyses to identify and address safety concerns and complete all paperwork.
- Project Coordination:
- Attend meetings with project managers to review blueprints, specifications, materials, equipment, budget, schedule, and manpower.
- Work closely with the Sheet Metal Division Manager to assess projects/orders, scheduling, and budgets.
- Oversee, coordinate, and help perform sheet metal installation on job sites, when needed.
· Other:
o Perform weekly inventories.
o Ensure the shop/work spaces are clean and organized.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: 7 to 10 years of commercial sheet metal experience, including 2 years in a leadership role.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, tools, and equipment. Able to read blueprints and drawings.
- Leadership: Ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving: Ability to identify and resolve problems effectively.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
