Taconic Nursing and Rehab is seeking a Full Time Therapy Director for our Beacon location.
Director of Rehabilitation / OTDIR, PTDIR (preferred) or SPDIR
COMPENSATION: $100,000-$107,000 per year depending on experience
SHIFT: FULL-TIME DAYS Weekend or evening if operationally necessary.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Rehabilitation Services will coordinate and supervise all functions and operations of the department. Maintain performance improvement activities within the department while assuring competency of all staff members. Assist in formulating budget, evaluate department performance versus said budget and work to remain within budget guideline.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates knowledge of age specific developmental factors specific to adult and geriatric residents (ie. physical, cognitive, and socialization factors) in
planning and delivering care. - Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and techniques necessary to care for and treat residents with the following needs: orthopedics, neuro disease, infectious
disease and cognitive deficits, if applicable. - Performs evaluations and treatments on an as needed basis in order to satisfy needs of the department.
- Communicates and coordinates the rehabilitation department functions with other departments in a constructive manner that helps build team rapport and
effectiveness. - Communicates professionally with physicians, Administrator, director of Nursing, and rehabilitation therapists regarding department programs, goals, objectives, problems and successes
- Generate reports regarding rehabilitation services including utilization, service logs, labor logs, productivity, and budget/cost analysis.
- Provides monthly reports to the Administrator concerning the department.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Graduate of a school approved by the American Physical Therapy Association, the American Occupational Therapy Association or the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
- Licensure: Valid New York State Professional License
- Experience: Minimum: Three-five years’ experience with some work in geriatrics.
- Preferred: Management experience highly desirable along with experience working in a skilled nursing facility.
