Business Development Representative - Freight Forwarding & 3PL Warehouse

In this sales role, you’ll play a key part in driving our company’s growth by developing new customer relationships for our import logistics and 3PL services. Reporting directly to the Chief Logistics Officer, you’ll focus on creating opportunities, expanding market share, and delivering solutions that meet our clients’ needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new import logistics opportunities with a focus on small to medium-sized businesses.
- Build and grow relationships with select accounts to maximize revenue potential.
- Manage a robust pipeline of opportunities to increase Tactical’s market share.
- Oversee the full sales cycle, from prospecting and quoting to closing and maintaining relationships.
- Proactively address customer needs by monitoring satisfaction, resolving potential service issues, and recommending process improvements.
- Achieve company sales targets for calls, opportunities, and closed deals.
- Promote and sell a range of services, including Ocean and Air Import transportation, Cargo Insurance, Customs Brokerage, and 3PL warehousing.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (or at least two years of college/military service).
- Minimum of 2 years of field sales experience in freight forwarding or 3PL.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of logistics processes, systems, and solutions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Effective presentation and customer relations skills.
- Strong listening, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities.
- Goal-oriented and self-motivated to achieve results.
- Technology: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel within the territory.
