The Opportunity
As the Assistant Project Manager for Data Center Construction Projects, you will work closely with the Project Manager and various stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and successful delivery. Your primary duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Project Coordination: Assist the Project Manager in coordinating project activities, tasks, and resources to ensure the timely completion of data center construction projects.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including meeting minutes, progress reports, and project schedules. Prepare regular status updates and reports for review by the Project Manager and senior management.
- Budget and Cost Control: Collaborate with the Project Manager to monitor project expenditures, track costs, and assist in managing the project budget effectively.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Support the Project Manager in managing relationships with vendors and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project plans and quality standards.
- Quality Assurance: Assist in implementing and maintaining rigorous quality control measures throughout the construction process. Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
- Safety Oversight: Participate in fostering a strong safety culture on-site, and adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Progress Monitoring: Track project progress and milestones, updating project schedules and communicating any delays or issues to the Project Manager.
- Change Management: Collaborate with the Project Manager to manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring proper documentation and communication with stakeholders.
- Communication and Collaboration: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a construction-related role, with exposure to data center projects being a plus.
- Knowledge of construction methodologies, project management principles, and best practices.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining accurate project documentation.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools is advantageous.
- Ability to work onsite five days a week.
