Job Overview
Tactical Protective Services (TPS) is seeking dedicated and professional Armed Security Officers to provide a strong security presence in public areas. Officers will conduct foot patrols, serve as a visual deterrence, and work alongside both armed and unarmed officers to ensure public safety.
Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity.
- Enforce security policies and procedures while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Conduct thorough inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify potential security risks.
- Provide first aid and CPR assistance when necessary, ensuring the health and safety of individuals on site.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies during incidents requiring their involvement.
- Conduct foot patrols of assigned city streets and designated areas.
- Provide a high-visibility security presence to deter criminal activity.
- Work collaboratively with other armed and unarmed security personnel.
- Monitor and report suspicious activity, security concerns, or safety hazards.
- Maintain situational awareness and respond appropriately to incidents.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including hands-off and no-chase policies.
- Complete detailed incident reports and Daily Activity Reports (DARs).
- Communicate effectively with law enforcement, emergency responders, and the public as needed.
Experience
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Valid and Active Wear and Carry for Maryland and Maryland Guard Card.
- Previous experience in armed security, law enforcement, or military preferred.
- Strong observational skills with the ability to remain alert and professional.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during patrols.
- Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
- Must pass a background check and firearm qualification.

- Shirt and Coat (will be provided)
- TDU Green Tactical Pants
- Black Outer Carrier (Level IIIA or higher)
- Level III OWB (Outside the Waistband) Holster with hood cap
- Own firearm (9mm or .40 caliber)
- Extra magazines and magazine pouches
- Flashlight
