Position Overview
As a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse, you’ll provide comprehensive care to patients with a broad range of medical needs, from managing chronic conditions to aiding in recovery from surgery. Unlike specialized telemetry roles, Med/Surg nurses care for patients with diverse diagnoses, requiring a strong foundation in general medicine, surgical care, and an ability to address overall patient health changes. Key Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patient conditions, responding to changes in symptoms or overall health
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Support pre- and post-operative patients, providing education on recovery, wound care, diet, and medication
- Prioritize patient comfort, safety, and well-being in all aspects of care
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes
