We have an outstanding Contract position for a Shipping and Receiving Associate to join a leading Company located in the Tulsa, OK surrounding area.Job Responsibilities : Performs a variety of shipping and receiving tasks. Verifies materials received are as ordered and routes incoming items to appropriate departments / locations. Prepares items for shipment ensuring cost effective courier services.Receives supplies and materials, sorts by priority; reviews purchase orders to ensure appropriate supplies and / or materials have been received, stamps date. Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.Reviewing paperwork for received items; issues work order; labels unit and paperwork; and routes to the appropriate department.Operates hand truck or forklift to unload shipments from trucks.Fill out purchase orders requesting supplies for shipping.Examines paperwork and unit, packs items, and uses a computer to generate shipping information for the carrier.Prepares shipments for postal or commercial conveyance; determines most economical and efficient shipping method; selects appropriate shipping container; packs items to ensure safe delivery.Resolves receiving discrepancies by comparing purchase order(s) to delivery documentationPrepares bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct.Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and / or purchasing personnel.Traces lost shipments and / or customer claims of lost shipments; initiates proof of delivery documents.May maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping / receiving records.May operate dolly, pallet jack, and / or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate shrink-wrap machine; may operate company vehicle to deliver shipments; may assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area; may lock warehouse and set alarms.Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives; continuousObserve all safety and security procedures. Uses equipment and materials properly.Reports potentially unsafe conditions.Other duties as assigned.Basic Hiring Criteria : High school Diploma or equivalent.Minimum of 5 years' work experience. Shipping / Receiving experience within the aviation industry preferred.Knowledge of electronic business systems Microsoft Office, Quantum or other internal business management system.Ability to work well under pressure, multi task and meet deadlines.Looking for a hands-on individual with the ability to see the big picture.Proven team player who has demonstrated capabilities in the following areas : excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal skills, well-developed problem-solving skills, solid organizational skill; and the demonstrated ability to be self-directed and effectively relate to all levels of the organization.Strong business judgment and ethical work habits.Ability to interact in a positive and professional manner and to develop and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers, supervisor, vendors, and customers.Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.Customer-focused and results-oriented.Strong troubleshooting knowledge down to component level using measuring gauges and test equipment.Ability to read and interpret documents such as Parts Manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
