Established manufacturing company in Blue Earth MN since 1963.  We manufacture steel and aluminum truck bodies and hoists for a variety of industry needs i.e. agriculture, construction, landscaping etc. 

To continue to innovate we require an experienced engineer willing to process product development from concept to production including drafting, structural analysis and product testing, and lifecycle assessments.  The ideal employee must be confident in his/her ability, decisive, and capable of collaboration.  He/she must be familiar and experienced with metal fabrication processes and equipment, as well as structural engineering as it relates to welding, material applications, and workflow efficiencies. 

Expectations: Innovation and an understanding of the in-field applications, Solidworks and other CAD and office software competence, working knowledge of manufacturing and assembly, and working knowledge of hydraulics. You will be expected to design, draft, and maintain CAD files. 

Opportunities: You will be directly influencing product innovation, modernizing the current product line, and providing guidance on lean manufacturing processes and reinvestment into manufacturing solutions.   

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2 years of professional experience, or a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

·       Expertise with Solidworks CAD and Simulation. CAD Certification is a plus

·       An intuitive understanding of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) techniques and the ability to utilize them to maximize production output

·       Computer programming education and/or experience.

·       Education and/or experience with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems.

·       An understanding of regulations and governance over our industry i.e. truck equipment manufacturing, upfits, and applications such as DOT compliance

·       Experience with Windows, and Office 365 applications

·       Capability to design and work independently, multitask, organize, and manage time on projects, exercising independent judgment.

·       Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

 

Job Requirements and Responsibilities:  Not all inclusive but generalized for this job posting

·       Collaborating in innovation efforts (R&D) from concept and design through factor analysis, and production integrations

·       Design, draft, and maintain CAD files including recreating current Autocad files into Solidworks, creating assembly drawings and details, developing production layouts, and installation recommendations  

·       Conduct extensive failure analysis of components and assemblies as it relates to loads, vibration, and shock.

·       Programming and nesting for laser and punch applications and operations

·       Team collaborations with management, sales, manufacturing leads and vendors

·       Keeping abreast of state-of-the-art engineering techniques and manufacturing technologies

·       Familiarization with market demand and expectations, as well as the competitive landscape

·       An understanding of regulations and governance over our industry i.e. truck equipment manufacturing, upfits, and applications such as DOT compliance. Keep abreast of regulation changes and updates.

·       Membership of NTEA – https://www.ntea.com/  and conference participation

·       Copywrite, Trademark and Patenting procedures 

·       Maintain project records including drawing, document, and process recordkeeping

·       Budgets, costings, quality assurance/control, and warranty recommendations

·       Confidentiality / Non-disclosure agreement will be required
