What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher on Special Assignment - TOSA (ELD) position at Taft City Elementary School District?
Job Summary
The TOSA will be working under the direct supervision of the site administrator and Director of Education Services to help support and guide teachers during the ELD curriculum implementation process. Duties will vary depending on the needs of the district and site, but may include :
- Guiding and supporting teachers with overall implementation of ELD curriculum
- Student engagement
- Collaborating with Principal and help design and support the MTSS process
- Participating in Student Assistance Team (SAT) meetings as appropriate / needed to assist in coordination of intervention services for students receiving intervention services
- Coaching teachers on techniques or lessons, reflective thought processes and leveled questioning and curriculum improvement
- Uses data to identify and assess students needing Tier 3 intervention and organize intervention groups and materials.
- Provide professional development (PD) to teachers
- Monitor and collaborate with grade level teams to reflect on practices and data

Experience :
Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice as well as a physical clearance are conditions of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met.
