Adjunct Faculty – Medical Assisting Program

Position Description
Taft College is seeking a pool of qualified candidates with demonstrated instructional skills to join an outstanding team of faculty and staff to provide high quality programs and services for our students. Teaching assignments may be temporary, part-time and / or on-call and may be immediate or as needed (as specified in Education Code 8748.25). We are seeking two-three adjunct faculty with the ability to teach in the Medical Assisting Program for the 2025-2026 School Year.
The following is a representation of the duties for this position.
- Instruct one or more of the following community college courses in the Medical Assisting Program :
- MEDA1101 Introduction to Health Careers
- MEDA1102 Communication in Healthcare
- MEDA1103 Medical Law, Ethics, and IT Security
- MEDA1104 Electronic Health Record
- MEDA1105 Medical Office Procedures
- MEDA1106 Basic Medical Insurance and Billing
- MEDA1107 Basic ICD and CPT Coding
- MEDA1201 Administrative Medical Assistant Externship
- MEDA1108 Medication Administration for Medical Assisting
- MEDA1109 Clinical Medical Assisting I with Laboratory
- MEDA1110 Clinical Medical Assisting II with Laboratory
- MEDA1301 Clinical Medical Assistant Externship
- Teach courses on a schedule that may include days and evenings.
- Deliver instruction utilizing multiple modalities including in-person on campus, online, and hybrid.
- Submit required reports and grades within established guidelines.
- Optional : Hold scheduled office hours to meet with students.
- Optional : Opportunities for professional development.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
An applicant may meet minimum qualifications in one of the ways listed below :
COMPENSATION and BENEFITS
77.02-$90.50 per hour. This is a part-time position and is not eligible for participation in District benefit plans.
