This position is part of the library's work study program, which provides opportunities for students to gain valuable work experience while supporting the academic mission of the college.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist library staff with various projects and daily tasks, including shelving books and maintaining an orderly library environment.
- Provide assistance to students, faculty, and staff at the Circulation desk, including answering questions and helping with technology-related issues.
- Perform clerical duties, such as data entry and filing, using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Complete opening and closing duties, including checking supplies and performing light cleaning and sanitizing of library furniture and equipment.
- Use ALMA (circulation software) for Circulation transactions, including checking out and/or checking in library materials.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a minimum of 6 units, in good standing, with Taft College.
- Must remain enrolled and in good standing during employment.
- Minimum of a 2.5 GPA.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn alphanumeric call numbers.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly with minimal supervision.
