Industrial Electrician
The Industrial Electrician position plays a critical role in analyzing, recommending, implementing, troubleshooting, upgrading, improving, and repairing various electrical and instrumentation/automation systems.
This includes diagnosing complex equipment, troubleshooting control systems, and implementing tuning strategies to support business goals in a continuous process operation.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment issues.
- Maintain and repair faulty electrical components of machinery, including relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devices.
- Install, diagnose, and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and components of industrial machinery and equipment.
- Install power supply and conduit for newly installed machines and programmable controllers.
- Complete routine paperwork and perform tasks in other trades as required.
- Foster a clean work environment by adhering to housekeeping guidelines.
- Apply problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues.
- Participate in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) activities within their designated work area.
- Clean up spills or other housekeeping issues promptly and maintain a 'clean as you go' mentality.
- Report any known or discovered contamination or food safety risks to product management immediately.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and required.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- A minimum of 5 years of direct experience working as an Industrial Electrician in a manufacturing setting is required.
- A technical degree in Electrical Discipline is preferred but not necessary.
- Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and disciplines are essential.
- Must be able to work in a moderately heavy manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
- Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of movement, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, climbing, and descending stairs and ladders.
- Must possess strong mental acuity and quick response times.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are mandatory.
- Basic math functions and computer skills, including data entry, are expected.
