Assistant Food Service Manager

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide consistent quality and presentation in all dishes that come out of the kitchen
• Ensure that food wait times are kept low
• Train and cross-train kitchen staff in all aspects of kitchen sanitation, food preparation and food safety
• Ensure that the BOH is properly set up and broken down each day
• Obtain thorough knowledge of all restaurant recipes and preparation procedures
• Take inventory of kitchen ingredients and supplies twice a week
• Efficiently place orders and verify shipments of food and beverage into the kitchen to ensure we always maintain proper quality and quantity
• Manage employee scheduling so that the kitchen is always properly staffed
• Order new kitchen items as necessary with ownership approval
• Create new specials weekly to entice guests to visit frequently
• Monitor health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving, and building maintenance.
• Conduct inspections often on kitchen equipment and supplies
• Conduct inspections on compliance with food storage and preparation (temperature checks, labeling, etc.) and correct errors as needed
• Maintain an open line of communication with ownership and other managers about BOH issues, concerns, and requirements
• Manage personnel such as in hiring, training, disciplining, and terminating as necessary in accordance with restaurant policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications:

• 2 or more years of previous Restaurant Management Experience a must
• Spanish speaking a plus, not required
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $50,000.00 per year
