As a Forestry Equipment Operator II, you’ll work alongside skilled professionals executing projects aimed to improve the health of our Sierran forest, build community wildfire resilience, and ease our landscape of excess fuels through progressive vegetation management. This position operates and maintains heavy equipment, assists in tree falling operations and material transport, prescribed burn operations, trail maintenance, forest stand restoration, and assists other Tahoe Donner departments as needed.

- 2 years of experience in the operation of forestry related heavy equipment.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Possesses a valid Class C Driver License, accompanied by a good driving record (records must meet the minimum standards required by TDA’s insurance carrier).
- Possesses knowledge of safe work practices as they pertain to forestry related equipment.
- Extensive experience operating skid steers and/or similar machines to masticate vegetation.
- Can commit to our 2025 summer season: (Tentative season schedule: May 12th, 2025 – November 14th, 2025 (subject to change).
