This is expected to be a variable weekend shift with the hours of 6am - 6pm, and the following weekend 6pm - 6am

Summary
Performs all respiratory care interventions and duties in accordance with specific physician’s orders and department policies and procedures. Performs all routine and complex respiratory care procedures for patients of all ages in all areas of the hospital.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitors Respiratory Therapy interventions assuring appropriate type of treatment, equipment and/or therapeutic devices are utilized for all inpatient and outpatient procedures.
- Maintains and operate all required equipment to administer prescribed respiratory treatment plan.
- Maintains all competencies related to respiratory care.
- Maintains competency in emergently establishing and maintaining the airway during management of trauma, intensive care, and neonatal resuscitation.
- Reads and interprets physician’s orders in charts.
- Confers with medical staff and nursing, making recommendations on individual patient care plans and updates patient response to respiratory assessments and interventions provided.
- Reviews respiratory plan of care with patients.
- Document respiratory therapy interventions and patient response and assessment in accordance with policy and procedure.
- Performs tracheobronchial suctioning and tracheotomy care.
- Performs tracheal intubations and obtains arterial blood samples for ABG analysis for all age groups.
- Performs pulmonary function studies.
- Participates in annual clinical competency education.
- Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
- Complies with System policies and procedures.
- Other duties as may be assigned.

Education and Experience
Associates Degree - Graduation from an education program accredited by the Joint Review Committee for Respiratory Therapy Education (JRCRTE).
2 - 3 years of relevant experience
Licenses, Certifications
Board Certified RRT by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) by the Respiratory Care Board of California
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers - Upon Hire
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - Upon Hire
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS): Employees that have never been certified must take a live initial AHA certification class. Employees with recently expired certifications will be enrolled in Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI). Certification must be completed within specified time frame. - Upon Hire
ACLS: Employee will be enrolled in the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) Advanced Life Support (ALS) Entry or Prep Curriculum (depending on their previous ACLS certification). - Upon Hire
Registered Respiratory Therapist - Upon Hire
