Executive Director Job Description
The Tahoe Prosperity Center (TPC) is uniting Tahoe’s communities to strengthen regional prosperity.
The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Directors, with the Board Chair acting as primary supervisor. As a small, non-profit organization, staff may take on many responsibilities; however, the primary job duties are outlined below:
- Works with the Board of Directors to fulfill the organization's mission.
- Coordinates agendas and packets for Board of Directors meetings, Executive Committee meetings and Board Committee meetings.
- Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board in a timely manner all information that is needed for the board to make informed decisions.
- Signs all notes, agreements and contracts entered into and on behalf of the organization.
- Develops resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of TPC.
- Actively seeks ongoing financial support through business investment, private donors, government support and other sources to ensure financial diversity and sustainability.
- Responsible for fiscal integrity including submission to the Board of an annual budget, monthly financial statements and a quarterly cash flow that accurately reflects the financial condition of TPC.
- Responsible for fiscal management of the organization including operating within a Board approved budget.
- Oversees the administration, programs and strategic direction of the organization, as set by the Board of Directors.
- Oversees the fund development, marketing, and community outreach efforts of TPC.
- Responsible for the hiring of qualified, competent staff and contractors to ensure successful implementation of the projects and programs of TPC.
- Supervises staff and contractors to ensure successful implementation of the programs and administration of TPC.
- Acts as primary spokesperson for TPC. Prepares and presents TPC information to the public – through organized presentations, updates to jurisdictions and other organizational partners and when representing TPC in meetings or other venues such as events and conferences.
- Coordinates communication, media and outreach efforts regionally and promotes positive publicity of the work of the organization.
- Establishes and maintains positive and sound working relationships with local and regional organizations, businesses and other groups to further the mission and goals of TPC.
Job Requirements:
- Strong interest in and enthusiasm for the Lake Tahoe Region and its economy, community, and environment and the mission of the Tahoe Prosperity Center.
- College degree (Four-year degree preferred, but two or more years of college minimum.)
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Advanced proficiency with Google applications (Drive, calendar, sheets, etc.)
- Strong proficiency with Zoom and other virtual and technology platforms.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Self-directed and capable of problem-solving and managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Great teamwork skills with a friendly personality.
- Experience with social media platforms is highly beneficial.
- Strong fundraising skills including large donor acquisition and cultivation.
- Event planning experience is not required, but encouraged.
- Must have a valid CA or NV drivers license and the ability to drive to the office and other locations around Lake Tahoe as needed, including in winter.
- Able to work on a computer for up to 8 hours a day, including sitting at a desk for extended periods; to read a computer screen; and manual dexterity to operate a keyboard.
- Able to occasionally lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
NOTES
Currently the position does not include health benefits, but we do have a health stipend in each paycheck of $500 (paid twice a month). We also provide a yearly stipend of $900 towards personal cell phone use. This position requires some in person days in the physical office at Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation in Incline Village, NV. Other work days can be flexible via working from home. Salary range is commensurate with experience, but the range is expected to be between $115,000 to $140,000.
