The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing all throughput functions including data entry, verification, fulfillment, and shipping. This role ensures operational excellence, compliance, and efficiency across the entire throughput lifecycle.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director will lead cross-functional teams to drive performance, optimize processes, and uphold the highest standards of quality and safety. With a strong command of pharmacy operations and lean principles, this individual will be instrumental in scaling the operation, enhancing patient experience, and supporting the organization’s mission to deliver timely, safe, and effective medications.
This role will collaborate cross-functionally to drive operational efficiency, reduce costs, and implement continuous improvements that support TMC’s growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, direct, and oversee all aspects of fulfillment operations, ensuring alignment with company goals and performance objectives.
- Identify, design, and implement agile and responsive solutions to improve throughput processes, enhance productivity, and reduce costs while maintaining quality.
- Manage and mentor department management teams, including supervisors and frontline staff, to ensure effective teamwork, high performance, and accountability.
- Ensure strict adherence to company policies, operational SOPs, and regulatory requirements across fulfillment.
- Work closely with production, supply chain and procurement teams to maintain accurate inventory levels and streamline material flow.
- Uphold a safe working environment by ensuring adherence to safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety throughout the facility.
- Participate in the development and execution of long-term strategies for facility growth, expansion, and process innovation.
- Address operational challenges and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and minimize disruptions to production.
- Collaborate with the Executive Team to develop KPIs for operations team related to inventory, staffing, fulfillment, and quality.
- Holding reports accountable to metrics.
- Hold managers accountable to team performance, metrics, and compliance expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Understanding of lean concepts, agile manufacturing, and/or responsive production
- Minimum of 5 years in an operations leadership role managing cross-functional teams
- Proven experience in problem-solving, data analysis, decision-making, and resource management
- Strong working knowledge of planning, shift scheduling, and workplace policy enforcement
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Excel and similar tools and demonstrated ability to analyze operational data and develop comprehensive reporting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in direct-to-consumer pharmaceutical or pharmacy operations
- Familiarity with FDA and pharmacy compliance regulations
- Demonstrated success leading teams in a high-growth or startup-like environment
